A piece that explores the relationship between drawing, proportion and volume. Each piece is based on the proportions of an A4 sheet (29.7 cm high), which are rendered in three dimensions through hand-modelling. Working with black stoneware and porcelain, the artist investigates how a simple line can create movement, tension and presence. The white porcelain lines are not applied as decoration, but are integrated into the form, acting as strokes from the original drawing from which each vase emerged. A collection that continues Sofía Aguas’s interest in reduction, tactility and sculptural balance, whilst exploring the transition from line to volume through clay.
