They were the goddesses or personifications of fate in Greek mythology. The Fates controlled the course of human life through the metaphor of the thread of wisdom, and neither gods nor men could escape their power. There were three of them: Clotho, the spinner, responsible for weaving and creating the thread of life; Lachesis, who measured the length of that thread; and Atropos, the unyielding one, who cuts the thread with scissors at the moment of death. A beautiful reflection that the artist Santiago Sahli has sought to bring to these unique plates, steeped in mythology and legend.
