Collection: Sergio Basi

Sergio Basi

It was during a tea ceremony that Sergio Basi fell in love with the beauty of a small
ceramic cup and felt compelled to craft a similar one with his own hands. He
departed from philosophy and embarked on a new path as a potter, honing his
skills under masters like Ramon Fort, José Mariscal, and Penélope Vallejo,
among others. He is a co-founder of Limbo Project, a multidisciplinary space in
Barcelona, where he also serves as an exhibitions curator and experimental
ceramics teacher. His work is grounded in the exploration of materials and
their limits, the wabi-sabi philosophy regarding aesthetic imperfection, and
the exploration of decoration techniques using fumes, as well as unconventional
glazes, volumes, and textures.
